Meet The Women Behind Our Practice
“My goal is to help women reconnect with themselves so they can live with greater clarity, self-trust, and authenticity, rather than continuing to mask in ways that negatively impact their mental and physical wellbeing.”
Haylei Lorca, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC
FounderHaylei Lorca is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of Lorca Psychiatry & Wellness. She specializes in women's mental health, with expertise in neurodivergence in women, OCD, and mental health concerns across hormonal transitions, including PMDD, fertility treatment, pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause.
An approach grounded in authenticity
Haylei believes meaningful mental health care extends beyond symptom reduction. Her approach is collaborative, highly individualized, and focused on helping patients better understand themselves, develop self-acceptance, build resilience, and reconnect with their own inner wisdom and self-trust.
In addition to psychiatric diagnosis and medication management, she provides supportive therapy informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and existential philosophy, along with practical strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Therapy.
Her work is grounded in authenticity, helping patients move away from masking, self-doubt, and disconnection and toward lives that feel more aligned, meaningful, and sustainable
A deeper understanding of mind and body
Haylei has a special interest in supporting women navigating chronic autoimmune and rheumatologic conditions, particularly when these experiences intersect with neurodivergence, identity, and mental health. After being diagnosed with ADHD and a rare autoinflammatory condition in her early 30s, she brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to this work. She understands the complexity of navigating the healthcare system as a neurodivergent woman when symptoms are dismissed, minimized, or attributed solely to stress or anxiety, and the impact this can have on self-trust, the brain-body connection, and relationships with medical providers.
In 2025, Haylei presented at the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) National Conference in San Diego, where she spoke on the intersection of medical and psychiatric presentations and the importance of comprehensive assessment in mental health care. Her presentation emphasized the need to look beyond surface-level diagnoses and consider the full clinical context of a patient’s experience. It was attended by nurse practitioners and healthcare professionals from across the country and was selected for inclusion among a limited number of sessions highlighted for media coverage. Her work was also featured in Clinical Advisor, highlighting her focus on identifying underlying medical contributors to psychiatric symptoms and the importance of integrative, whole-person assessment in medical practice.
